The MOUNTAIN MAN was first cast in 1903 and was among Frederick Remington's finest bronzes and is generally considered one of his most ambitious. The Franklin Mint's spirited recreation is a fine art reproduction in miniature that captures all the power and grace of the original. The statue portrays a fur trapper of the north country riding his mount down a treacherously steep ridge. It evokes the rugged quality of life in the great American West, and one that suggest the great range or Reminton's artistic vision.
